We Did It!

We Went To The Lighthouse And Got Married!

It's official, I am Mrs. Cavitt! It all still feels very surreal and I suppose it will for some time. I can't imagine I'll ever get used to being called Shannon Cavitt - but - I like it. No, I LOVE it.

Everything about the evening was just beautiful. We could not have asked for a more stunning setting. Chad gets big time props for choosing that location at sunset, because it was truly gorgeous. The ceremony itself went well with the exception of one of the rings getting knotted to the pillow and me wondering out loud when the "you may kiss the bride" bit goes. I suppose these things happen when you don't rehearse or haven't done the whole marriage thing before, eh? Ha ha. All in all, it was very very special.

We did opt to do the sand ceremony (finished product to the left) and I am actually really glad. The finished product was beautiful and Chad's daughter Ashley read the ceremony piece so it made it a bit more memorable.

This photo displays not only the vase (which has our names and wedding date on it) but also the ring pillows (both Chad's daughter Haven and my little sister Loganne had one) as well as the matching glasses my mother bought for us :)

After the ceremony we went to the beach to take photos. Anyone who knows me, knows I get very uncomfortable posing for photos - so to be posing while thinking I looked just hideous, was a nightmare. Chad wanted to go down to the beach portion and take a few photos and once again, props, because these ones I actually kind of like.

And of course a kiss and the lighthouse in the back!

We had our wedding dinner at Patti's 1800 Settlement where we got a ton a photo ops, good food and great conversation. Then - our course - was our honeymoon night and we went to the Wildflower's Bed & Breakfast. It was so gorgeous and the room was flickering with candlelight.

The entire event seemed to go so fast but I have memories I'll hold dear forever and for always. I am married to the most gorgeous, caring, funny, intelligent, witty, talented and down-right sexiest man on the planet. I seriously have NO clue how I got so lucky but I will spend the rest of my life showing my gratitude, appreciation and love.

I Love You Chad. Forever & A Day.

Next? Saving money and starting paperwork. I need to be with him.

Until Next Time,
Shan

P.S. Our friends from SingSnap did a really special Wedding Page for us - check it out! <3

Today is THE Day!

We're Getting Married!

When I sit here and consider our relationship, how it began years ago and what it ended up developing into, I am just left utterly amazed. I have no idea how this happened but I am going to spend the rest of my life appreciating, cherishing and absorbing the wonderfulness of it all.

I seriously found the other half of my soul in this man and cannot wait to start out life together. His happiness is my happiness, his pain is my pain, his laughs are my laughs and his tears are my tears. I've never felt such a genuine and honest connection with someone - I can't even properly explain it. Other than saying I Love Him. I love him with everything I have ever had or ever will have in me. I can't wait to be his Wife!

Best Birthday Ever!

I Never Thought I'd Enjoy 30!

I turned dirty-thirty yesteday and while I don't consider myself vain when it comes to age, the thought of leaving my twenties kind of depressed me.

But - how could I be anything less than thrilled when getting to spend this gawd-awful event with the love of my life?

First and foremost, my friends from SingSnap got together and created me the most fabulous Birthday Page adorned with tons of songs just for me! :) There is also a thread where such beautiful words were written. I was touched, humbled and moved beyond belief. My lovely husband-t0-be (omg that sounds weird) brought just about everyone to tears with the beautiful words he wrote. I'll share them on the blog in the next post.

During the evening, my darling dearest cooked me the best. dinner. ever. So tasty. I haven't the faintest clue how I'll ever get up the nerve to cook for someone who clearly knows his way around the kitchen. Oy!

Anyways, look how sexy he looks being domestic!

The cake (seen above) is a Strawberry Cheesecake from Dairy Queen. To Die For. Chad also brought his oldest daughter Ashley over and it was really nice getting to spend some time with her.

Anyways, I really want to show you guys something else - Ready for it?

Still Ready?

Okay...

Here Goes...

The Ring!

Isn't it lovely? When he first placed it on my finger it was too big but I thought, better big than small. Then upon waking the next morning my finger was swollen to the max. Long story short, I "thought" I might have been allergic to the white gold but after a few days of letting the swelling going down and such, alls well! So yay!!!

One Week from today and I'll be getting ready to be a married woman! Eeek!

Until Next Time,
Shan

So Far - So Amazing!

I Love My Life
And the man in it. I love everything about the potential my future holds. I don't even know where to begin and my mind is too scattered lately to even focus. I just wanted to update the Blog World that life as I know it, is amazing.

It's so refreshing to wake up next to someone whom I love so much, I can't get enough of. To spend our evenings just enjoying one another and letting life lead us where it may.

I feel so at home here. So natural. His kids are fabulous and so far, I'm getting along with everyone famously. I don't know how well I'll fall into the role of "Step-Mom" or even what it entails but I honestly, sincerely am looking forward to spending time with my new 'family', learning about them and finding out niche. I'm going to have a husband - how weird does THAT sound?

Here he is. He's Gorgeous. I Love Him.

During my first weekend here, a couple of our friends came to visit. Paul and Sadie are SUCH amazing people and an ADORABLE couple! I love them to bits and can't wait until both Sadie and I are settled down here and able to meet up again :)

Paul & Sadie. Aren't they lovely?

You'll also see Paul being his usual charming self in the photo I posted at the top! :) Here's some more random, silly fun!

Okay, more pics later. This is a pain. Is there an easier way to upload and place them?

hehe!
Until Next Time!

Today Is The Day!

That I Am Going "Home"...

I just got out of the shower and decided to take a minute to share my excitement with the world! I get to see Chad today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My flight leaves in just under seven hours and I will *hopefully* land in Nashville in just over twelve! If you read this, please send good vibes for a stress-free, relaxing, no complications flight. hehe

It seems so surreal that I am going to be back in the Love Of My Life's arms...

hehe.... I may write from the airport, if not - I shall write you from KENTUCKY!

Until Then,
Shan

To Sand Or Not To Sand...

Unity Sand Ceremony

Chad and I are having a quick, intimate ceremony at the lighthouse, so since there won't be many materialistic objects to serve as memorabilia, the thought of a sand ceremony seemed like a perfect fit.

However, now I am second guessing the decision. Want to know why? I'll tell you.

1. Price.

These things just aren't cheap and well - I am. ha ha Everything is happening so fast, there really hasn't been time to effectively save money for these additional expenses, so I'm trying to make the entire thing memorable - yet economical.

2. Logistics.

Has anyone out there performed this kind of ceremony? How does it work? We're not exactly going to have a table or anything to hold the vases and such so we will be dependent upon the family to assist and I just don't know if that will make everything more awkward and or be more trouble than it's worth. What if it's windy. Will the sand just blow all over the place? I don't want it to be as if we're spreading someone's ashes. ha!

Thoughts are appreciated. (I'm humoring myself that people read this ;)!)

Moving On.

Let's see if you can count. Ready?

1 --- 2 --- 3 --- 4 --- DAYS!

Yep, four days until I make the trek down south into the land of the free! Send good vibes for a stress free flight and marvelous 'home-coming'. I cannot wait until I am able to see Chad again. I'm so sexcited! Yes, I said it!

Until Next Time,
Shan

One Week, Seven Days, Or 168 Hours

Until I am back in my baby's arms...

I don't really have much to report except that I am thrilled and the week can't go fast enough!

I will be flying in on September 9th and staying until September 26th. It's going to be amazing to have some quality time with him again and as odd as it may sound, I look most forward to everyday life with him for awhile.

Waking up to him, seeing him off to work, greeting him when he comes home. Watching him make dinner (hehe), cuddling together and finally drifting off to sleep with my head on his chest. *sigh* Pure Bliss!

We do have some other really fun things planned. A couple of our friends are coming up on Friday September 10th and spending the night. We'll do the whole drinks, guitar and bonfire thing. I'm excited to see the state I'll be moving to next year, I just hope I don't melt. Heat and Shannon don't mix too well - so here's hoping.

We'll also be taking the kids to the zoo, dinner with his daughter, maybe a drive-in movie, maybe some live karaoke and/or watching his friend's band play and of yeah... getting married! Eeeeeeeeek! My mom and baby sister are coming up for the wedding and we intend to spend some time doing fun things in the sun. Should be an amazing three weeks.

Now though? I've got so shave my legs!

Until Next Time,
Shannon

P.S. When I wrote this entry, I hadn't seen Chad's just before hand. Sorry if it sounds repetitive! LOL I didn't copy him I promise =oP

The Time Is Near

Well, it's getting close now and I am really getting excited. I miss Shannon so much and long to hold her in my arms again. Six more days and a wake up. Next Thursday can't get here soon enough!

See You Soon.
Chad

Chad's Poetry Corner

I wrote this last night...

You are my sun, my moon, my dark, my light,
My strength to get through another lonely night.
My hopes my dreams I hold so dear,
My future that has become so clear.
My first thought each morning and last each night,
Every day I thank God you're in my life.
Two years ago there was no you,
24 days from now my dreams come true,
I'll take your hand look into your eyes, T
Tell you I love you as you become my wife.
My circle closes, my journey ends,
But wait now another door opens and Life begins.
Waking to a brand new day,
As your husband I'll touch your face
I'll look into those sleepy eyes.
Good morning Shannon, my Beautiful wife

See You Soon,
Chad
